I would suggest skip the .22 Mag. In a handgun it does not offer any advantage over .22 lr that is is noticeable. I would get a used Ruger MKII or MKIII, and later get a rifle in .22 Mag.

Aside from performance, price is a big factor. .22 Mag cost way more to shoot.

Oh I had a RR it did what it was designed to do without any problems. I gifted it to my nephew. He still shoots it, and it still works just fine.
