I have a m44 myself! It shoots nice with American brass shells, instead of Russian 7.62 x 54! The scope mount I have is farther back on the reciver, and The bolt handel is bent down to allow for the scope eyepiece! If you mount a scope like the picture, use a tactical rifle scope with a longer eye relief, or you will need to stretch your neck to get a good view of your target over the breach!
