Can someone give me a list of all the manufacturers of M14 type rifles. Also which manufacturers should be avioded?

I was in a pawn shop yesterday and was suprised to see one on the rack. I was leaving when I noticed it and did not have time to handle, the price was in the $700 range and it looked like the manufacturers was listed as 3 letters.
