Tucker, I'd keep your M1A. If you put that much work and love into your gun, it's just the saddest thing to invest into a whole new system that might satisfy you, but you'll probably end up tinkering with it, too, with not a whole lot of gain. Imagine, you'll have to buy all new mags and components with the 17. However, if your M1A doesn't run the way you want it, move on. But my general rule is, if it's reliable, keep it.

Also, those M1A stocks look pretty sexy. I've always been waffling with buying a 7.62x51. To me, the ammo is too expensive, but I am a super cheapskate (when it comes to ammo, anyway, I spend a lot on my guns).

NOTE: Wow, sorry for posting! You guys have already talked this issue around. I didn't realize how old this thread was. Cool stocks for the M1A, though! Glad I looked at the thread.
