Thanks. I read the article during lunch and it was well written.

While I have no professional sheep dog experience I have many
family members who are "pros" (both veteran and current soldiers and retired
and active LEOs) and over the years their experiences and stories have
left an impression on me.

That impression relates to the part of the article where the statement
is made,

"You should always think when / what related to taking certain actions and not thinking in a mode of if / what

I certainly agree with that principle with regard to mental preparations.

I worked in home security for a few years and I went on many calls which were leads given to top sales people where someone had recently either been broken into (at home), or intruders had tried to get in or one of a dozen other eye opening stories / situations had transpired.

When / what is a little more sensible that If / what IMHO
