I use red dots on all my close range defensive rifles.

My go to is an AAC SBR in 300blk. Im currently running a Sig Romeo 5 with a circle/dot reticle. Shake to wake feature makes the batteries last forever. At in home / CQB distances the circle on his chest is fast and accurate. If i need to stretch distances or get more precision, the dot is good enough for 300yd holdovers.

Another advantage of the circle/dot is the bottom of the circle gives a good holdover reference for up close head shots.
