On mine they were. The actual work I put into converting mine was about 2 hours, and that included coating the receiver, barrel, gas tube, and receiver cover with Duracoat (not including the curing time).

From what I gather, converting the Saiga shotgun and rifle are nearly identical processes... the only difference is the bullet guide required with the rifle if you want to use AK mags.
