I'm in the same boat, 1911 when cooler, G23C in the heat.
I like the .45 ACP, but when it's hot it's a real pain. With the G23C I can put a lot of rounds on target REALLY REALLY fast.
The full-cap mags are indeed 13 rounds, and can be had for about $70.
Also, I prefer the 135 or 155 grn. loads, especially Federal's PP rounds. Easier on the recoil and in my experience more accurate.
And the Glock doesn't rust when placed next to my sweaty, nasty body!
