My spotting scope is all sticky,,,
I left it stored on it's tripod in an non air conditioned room for a year.

It seems that the heat or maybe the humidity,,,
Has caused a breakdown of the rubber outer coating.

Now it's almost liquid (gel like pliable),,,
And as tacky as a post-it note.

It's not a great big deal,,,
The scope only cost me $39.95 at Wal Mart,,,
But you would think that something with the Remington name on it would be better.

I've never had anything plastic do this before,,,
I'm just curious as to why this happened.
