What Crosshair said. Oregon Trail Laser Cast Bullets are 24 BHN and should be able to do 1,700 FPS. I shoot them in my 44mag Redhawk at 1,500 FPS, and there is actually less leading as I push them faster due to better obturation. I get more leading with them in my 45ACP at 900 FPS.
The other statements about slugging your barrel are important too, especially if you keep seeing leading.
