Two serious problems with the new laws.

1. Criminals will ignore the laws as always so they will now have the upper hand on citizens. and

2. The new law is likely to prevent those who should be seeking mental health services from doing so which is likely to increase the incidence of the type of violence that the legislation was designed to reduce.
