Double action shooting does take some practice. I started with a Model 10 (4" heavy barrel) and then bought a Model 36 as well.

Dry fire practice with snap caps really helps. A smooth pull while keeping the revolver perfectly still is the goal. It's easy to see when drying firing if you're yanking the gun around during your pull.

Keep practicing! You have two very nice guns!
