You're mixing nouns with verbs; property with use; tool with action.

She doesn't claim she should be able to do whatever she likes with a gun; just that she should not be restricted in ownership of small arms.

Why should you be allowed to own a vehicle capable of traveling faster than 75 MPH?

Prohibit the dangerous action, not the property.
