My wife has three rods between her shoulder blades from breaking her back twice. She cant take anything that resembles recoil. I built here a 243 that she can shoot. The 223 even in a bolt gun has a lot less recoil then the 243. She shoots my 223 bolt gun all the time. She has problems with my AR but not because of the recoil but the weight, its a target version weight in at 13.5 lbs

I really doubt you'll find the recoil of a 223 objectionable
