I understand that this has been debated over and over again, and it will never be fully settled, but you have missed my point. It isn't about what is "right" for me. The question is does the 9mm (with the new modern rounds) perform well enough to stop an assailant, and I think the answer is yes. Especially when you consider higher accuracy from the follow up shots (due to less recoil) and more capacity.
