While you are right in many cases, and IDPA is a game first are foremost, any handgun practice would be of benefit to anyone who would have to defend thier life with one.

Just because i IDPA with a 5" 1911 doesnt mean I will suddenly go stupid if i pick up a CCO 1911, or even a j frame.
