You don't put any lube at all anywhere near the firing pin channel, which, of course, includes the firing pin safety and spring. I do polish the firing pin safety on my Glocks.

Is the spring in correctly? You have to turn it counter-clockwise when installing it into the firing pin safety, in order to lock it in.
