It's a great caliber.

A couple years ago, I attended a Smith & Wesson armorer's course and one of the perks was, upon successful completion of the course, the students could purchase an M&P pistol direct from S&W for $199. Unfortunately, the .357 had been discontinued for the civilian market, so I went with a full size .40, then bought a .357 Sig barrel from Midway.
