RX, look at the pic of the barrels again.

Moving closer to the muzzle from the breech area, there is a big rounded lug that goes slightly over half way around the barrel.

When the barrel is rotated, this rounded lug will fit into slots in the slide. The result is that the barrel and slide are firmly locked together.

While the details differ from the current Beretta design (Px4 and earlier the Cougar) the idea is the same. And I was very impressed by the way the rotating barrel design reduced muzzle jump on the Cougar (9mm) and the Px4 (.40S&W).

So this gun excites me.
