response from PayPal

Hi,

I have now been exchanging some emails (see text below) and PayPal has confirmed it is ok to use them for Shoot'n Score It and match fees and other related merchandize regarding a sport shooting competition.

Note that PayPal states very explicit and clear in the acceptable use policy from PayPal that it can not be used for transactions for firearms, firearms parts or ammo (so you can not use it for match ammo in a competition).

I appreciate that all of you have expressed concern regarding the PayPal policy and I share it and will investigate other alternatives to add as payment methods that will complement PayPal and I will post info on this here to get your feedback (will investigate google wallet, amazon and some other),

I will during next week add the ability to state if a merchandize that you have created in SSI shall be included (default) or not in online Payment for competitors. This will allow you to create a match shop for your event including e.g. match ammo and lots of other stuff but to have match ammo excluded from the online payment (and then you need to handle this separately offline).

Dear Jens Lundstrom,

Thank you for contacting PayPal with your concern regarding your website
and the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy.

After review of your website, we show that this site, as it currently
exists, would not be in violation of our Acceptable Use Policy.
Therefore, you would be able to use PayPal as your payment processor.

We appreciate your cooperation and thank you for your prompt attention
to this matter. If you have any further questions or need our support,
please contact the PayPal Brand Risk Management Department at
[email protected].

Sincerely,
Sean

Yes, I have read all these license and acceptable use agreements and
I just wanted confirmation that I have understood them correctly as
follows:

***

It is ok for me as organizer of a sport shooting competition using
Shoot'n Score It
http://shootnscoreit.com to receive payments for match fees, lunch
tickets, t-shirts
and other related merchandize that I sell in association with the sport
event
and receive payments to a PayPal account.

These merchandizes are not firearms or parts for firearms as this is not
allowed
under the acceptable use policy from PayPal.

***

Is this a correct interpretation of the acceptable use policy from
PayPal.

Dear Jens Lundstrom,

Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding PayPals Acceptable Use
Policy.
PayPal has added an Acceptable Use Policy to the User Agreement to
further clarify items that may be sold using PayPal, as well as any
items sold or advertised on a website listed in PayPal Shops.
The Acceptable Use Policy highlights some of the legal
responsibilities buyers and sellers assume when transacting. Ultimately,
it is the responsibility of the buyers and sellers to ensure they are
compliant with all applicable laws. All customers will be required to
follow the guidelines set forth in the Acceptable Use Policy. Sellers
should also carefully read both eBay and PayPal guidelines if they plan
on using PayPal as their payment processor for eBay auctions,
shopfronts, and websites. Failure to comply with these policy changes
may result in limitations placed on your ability to use the PayPal
system.

To read the complete policy governing this category, please visit
www.paypal.com, click 'Legal Agreements' at the bottom of the page and
then select 'PayPal Acceptable Use Policy'.

It is my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for choosing PayPal.

Yours sincerely,
Dennis
