I am going to buy a Springfield Armory XD Subcompact in 9mm. I'd also like to add a suppressor to it, of course only after complying with all local and federal laws regarding possession, use, etc.

Does a threaded barrel require registration with BATFE, or just the suppressor? Is this design capable of being mated to a suppressor?
