Kickin' this one back up...
I had a Beretta 84FS that was 100% reliable.
The only reason I don't have it anymore is that it went in trade with a Beretta Tomcat 3032 for my Beretta Mini Cougar 8045F.
I wanted to cut down on calibers, and my Beretta 96's are .40, so I went with the Mini in .40.
The 84FS is the only firearm I've ever had with a 100% record of no failures of any kind.
Still, for ONE choice between the OP's dilemma, the full-size 92 fills all the niches.
