There were some boxes around the turn of the century marked .45 Long Colt but the head stamps were .45 Colt. I don't know of any modern ammo marked .45 Long Colt. No guns I'm aware of are marked 45 Long Colt unless the imports are. It's no big deal, almost everybody uses the term and have since the late 1800's. It's just not technically correct. Sorta like magazines and clips.
