Jack. There was an article about a year or so ago on the "best" powders for the .308.
Being a person who prefers the "ball" powders, I use W-760 in my .308 loads. According to that article, however, Winchester stated that W-748 was designed specifically for the .308. I haven't tried it yet, but I may before this hunting season.
W-748 is supposed to give the highest velocity of the Winchester powders. It's good stuff. I like it.
I don't post loads on the forums, but I will pass them on if you E-mail me and request them. All I can say about these loads, it that they have proved safe and accurate in the 7 different .308 rifles I own.
