So after a lot of screwing around, I finally got my rifle and new varmint load to like each other. These were my final groups of the day: 200 yards using 60 grain Hornady V-Max bullets over 23.5 grains IMR 8208 XBR. Shot these from my bipod.
Note: it took almost 100 rounds to get here, and the moral of the story is to be methodical, instead of trying to make shortcuts.
The single hole in the bullseye on the left (about 1.5 inches above the bullseye) was me aiming at the crosshair in the bull, the rest of the rounds I was aiming at the bottom of the bull ring.
Same deal on the prairie dog; first shot was center of the heart and landed in the neck, the other two were bottom of the heart.
Now I just have to load up a couple hundred of these pills next week and get some practice in.
Can't wait to go prairie dog shooting in a couple weeks.
