I shoot cast bullets almost exclusively in all my handguns. I've never messed with powder coating so haven't a clue about them.
One the various lubes I've use the ols NRA formula of 50/50 beeswax and alox works great but is rather messy and I think leaves the gun quite dirty. I prefer Lyman Magic Orange of LBT blue with my kind of leaning more toward the Lyman Orange. YMMV. Truth is I haven't found a cast bullet lube that didn't leave me with a dirty gun and just consider it part of the fun.
as far as powders go, Bullseye and W231 plus Unique for the .38 Spl. depending on what load I want to work up. Same for the .357 Mag. with the addition of 2400 for full power loads and for the .44 Mag the same as for the 357 Mg. Unique for the .44 Spl and Bullseye and Unique for the 45 ACP and .45 Colt.
