You always need to aim it as well as you can--but I believe the unit moving around as a result of muzzle blast (or wind) probably resulted in a large portion of the dropped shots I've had. My personal belief about why the new small chrono units are so popular is mostly their compact size makes them easier and faster to set-up and are engineered to capture the shots with less aiming. I still haven't been convinced they have a technological breakthrough that makes the labradar obselete. In fact, I've seen the labradars priced all the way down around $250.00--that's incredible for what you get IMO.
