Problem solved.

Late WW2 Inland M1 Carbine with adjustable rear sight and bayonet lug.
After field stripping I discovered the recoil plate was loose and cracked.
This kept the action from proper tension in the stock. I obtained a replacement
recoil plate and the resulting proper tension solved the stringing issue.
My recollection of the target that showed stringing was from tge top of thec10 ring to 12 o clock in the 7 ring.
After replacing the recoil plate the group was entirely in the black scoring 95
I appreciate the guidance.
