You know a hundred times more than what I do about what is appropriate--I was just wondering--since you mention you had a lot of shot impacts--if maybe the range was far enough the conventional lead shot might have been a factor (?). I've read other hunter accounts of turkeys that seemingly wouldn't go down after a good hit.
