There are certain designs that lend themselves to pocket carry and others not so much. Pretty hard to have an AD with a J-frame DAO for example. Not unusual with some striker fired autos, as many incidents of such exist.
Familiarity breeds carelessness. Ill handled firearms can bite you if you do something stupid or careless. Develop safe /good habits with your gun handling.
