Here's a picture of #2870 (2nd model squareback) from Wilson's TBCF, showing the distinctly different hammer shape.
I knew there was something else about the revolver that didn't look right, and it's the curvature and position of the trigger (as if the hammer is cocked). The position could just be an issue with the action.
It would be helpful to see a picture of the other side, as well as the top marking on the barrel.
