I had the exact same thing happen to my G19 Gen4 where the slide lock lever and spring just fell out of the gun. I was competing in an IDPA match when it happened, and at the end of the stage when I went to close the slide after showing clear, the entire slide fell off the front of the gun. I purchased the gun earlier this year so it should of had all updated parts. Apparently this probelm is not so uncommon after all.
