I've been decocking my CZ 75B , and other guns for decades without incident. It is not difficult to do safely, and if you are really scared of it, put your thumb in front of the hammer before you decock.
Or just pick up one of the decocker models if you're not interested in cocked and locked.
Know the status of your weapon
Keep your muzzle oriented so that no one will be hurt if the firearm discharges
Keep your finger off the trigger until you have an adequate sight picture
Maintain situational awareness
