SP-01 is a step up. Probably the most noticeable difference is a way better trigger right from the factory. Anyway, I still prefer my 85 for its history, ergonomy and design. It's a total classic. Czech 1911.
Very well put. That is why I chose my new satin '75B.

However, now that I own it, I realize that the SP01 is much more comfortable to shoot. I have big hands, and although the 75 doesn't draw lots of blood like a GI 1911 does for me, its downswept tang is uncomfortable after a few mags.

I hate to have to go through the hassle, but I am going to have to ditch my 75 and buy an SP01 instead. If you have big hands you may want to skip straight to the SP01.
