I think its funny how as soon as four letters appear on a forum people think everyone is talking about some hair brained movie scenario.
The way I see it the whole "shtf" thing falls under 3 catagories.
the never gonna happen:
28 day's later, 2012 stuff, alien invasion, movie bs
the real:
127 hours/Aron Ralston scenario, wilderness survival, your home burns down, violent crime etc..
And the It happened but isn't likey to be repeated:
The north hollywood shootout, 9/11 type events.
Notice how none of these scenario's outcome's can be changed by having a gun with the possible exception of the "violent crime".
It is good to see many people here have a level head and can tell the difference.
