Copper, lead and brass will not "dent" or "wear" a fairly substantial chunk of steel like that.
Looks as if they made a change to the design of the feed ramp somewhere along the way.
I have shot a fair bit of HSM ammo without any issues (just bought 1000 rounds of 10mm).
Just shoot it, and once you find some ammo it likes, stick with that.
