My buddy owns a salvage yard, and this has occurred numerous times. Check your local laws, you may have to turn it in, but most states have a law that the merchandise becomes yours after 90 days. Plus, you want to make sure that it is not stolen, or it is the gun that ended up killing Tu Pac or Biggie Smalls.
