i'm relativley new to reloading and my springfield 1911 is giving me headaches on the headspace gauging... as far as i've been told i am to use the barrel to check headspace by placing round in the back, then inverting the barrel with the round falling out if correct? if this so, then my oal is considerably shorter than the min. oal provided with the dies... and what is a medium load to shoot 230 gr. bullets using unique powder?
