Not trying to nit-pick, but not all guns will handle published maximum loads. I believe the idea is to work up from minimum, watching for pressure signs
and then quit at that point if you see any.
1. You may or may not find a "sweet spot" before that occurs.
2. There are no reliable signs of overpressure.
You are correct in advising that SAAMI pressure limits shouldn't be exceeded, but that
can occur before published maximums are reached.
