Try one of the pellet guns...I use a Gamo Whisper..not too much noise and the destruction is minimal....dead but not too big of a hole. Used to be that one could get a reasonable amount for the hides also...Used to catch them frequently in my traps when I was trapping. Skinned them and sent them in. Might help pay for the ammunition!!!

PS...they are a bit*h to skin
