The first plus P rated Model 60 came out in 1990. Accepted internet wisdom (ie use at your own risk) is that limited use of Plus P in a early model won't harm the gun, regular use will accelerate wear. For the grips, jany round butt J frame grip will fit. If yours is a 60-1 with a three inch heavy barrel and square butt then you will need to look for square but grips.
