Single resizing dies are sometimes bought by those folks who have in line seating dies that can work for different cartridges of the same caliber or are buying a specific seating die for competition that does not come with a resizing die. Some of the more popular cartridges like .308 and 30-06 will have myriad of configurations for dies and it allows the reloader to have flexibility.
