I have only had my tumbler a short time, so I have not yet had to do this. But I've been told that you shouldn't add more polish as it does not wear out. Instead add mineral spirits, also called Stoddard Solvent, once it doesn't seem to clean as well to give it a "refresh". It still won't last forever though.
Also, cut up a used (or new) dryer sheet and tumble with it tossed in. They are dirt magnets.
Otherwise, just replace it.
