The hornady manual gives the COL for each bullet at the top of the load data. Just use that number for length. It is often shorter than the MAX COL listed with the cartridge description.
If your are seeing a slight bulge on the case where the bottom of the bullet would be, this is normal. When you resize the casing it makes it smaller, but seating the bullet expands the brass a bit, and this is what gives the brass a good firm grip on the bullet.
As the others have said, we need to each adjust our own dies to suit our needs. I would never depend on anyone else, even the factory, to send them set up right. They can't anticipate the components, and a different bullet will likely change the seating depth.
