I reload the Nosler 100 grain partition for my wifes .243. I never compared it to the 95 grain, but I would stick with the 100 grain. Just my opion but I think you got the right one, with a well placed shot. She shot at two deer last year, and got both of them. The first one was a buck she hit it behind the front shoulder, and went completely thru the deer. Looked like it expanded perfect. Went about 35 yards, and fell over. She then filled her doe tag took a neck shot and no doubt went thru both sides, and dropped right on the spot. I think the .243 is o.k. for deer with the right bullet, and a well placed shot. Like I told her if it is not a perfect shot pass on it, and she did on a few before she got the two. I had them loaded with RL-22 at 3000 f.p.s. bigger bullets in the .243 like slow burning powder. Nosler has there load posted on there site.
