I have the same question....
I brought a new and unfired SS 7 1/2" Virginian Dragoon 44mag. that I purchased about 15 years ago out of the safe for use today. I thought it would be a "piece of cake" to find better shooting grips for this gun. I thought something made for Ruger, Colt SAA or one of the many clones would fit ...... Not!!!
It seems the grip frame is wider than most similar SAA's and nothing available from the major grip mfgs will fit. I took the gun to several gun stores for grip fitting and discovered nothing worked....
I don't recall if Pachmayr made their grips for Dragoons when these guns were being produced. If they did they too have long been out of production and finding used ones would be our only apparent option There is no reference in the 2009 Midway or several other firearms catalogs that indicate stocks are available from anybody for this revolver..
If you or someone else on this board finds a workable option I'd sure like to hear about it. If not they may have to be custom made....
