The Monarch I used I found to be loaded lighter than most brands, including Blazer. The round comes out with much less velocity than Independence, Blazer, UMC, Winchester White Box, etc.

This may cause issues as it may not have enough power to feed the next round...

The ammo I had did not have any gunk or film on them. I believe the brass is reload compatible, too.

I did have a squib round (one that did not have enough propellant behind the bullet) which lead to the gun not feeding. Since it was my first box of Monarch, I thought the squib plus the lack of umph of the bullets would definitely limit my use to a "last resort" for practice ammo.

Blazer Brass is similarly priced and I have had better experiences with it.
