Pyrodex is the cheapest sub. It's the only one I've ever used. If the gun is brass framed I wouldn't go over 25 grs. If it's a steel frame you can go on up to 40 with Pyrodex. Those starter kits have .451 balls. You need .454's. If you get wads for under the balls it less messy than lubing over them.
