Why don't you try some of the starting loads listed for 300 weatherby mag? Most of those are just above full power for 30-06 loads. Stick with a lighter bullet. I've had good luck loading down just a bit from starting loads with H4895 in other magnum calibers. It isn't the faster powder out there, which would be a good thing for you.
