If I remember correctly the Speer 200gr. Gold Dot factory load does about 875 from a 6" tube, my .44spl Gold Dot handload is about that. I believe the 200gr. Gold Dots are made open up at above 785fps or so which should be about 3" tube territory. Not sure how much more a "N" frame weighs over an "L" but it does make a difference.
